We did warn you. If the adventure is what you are looking for but that may be a little out of your budget, why not look to see what is on your doorstep? Britain hosts some of thee most beautiful countryside in the world and if an outdoor adventure is what you seek why not try:
Dublin to Ennis, Western Ireland –
Dublin, great fun, great people, great city but that isnt why we are suggesting this trip, why not head out to the lush green Irish countryside. Pass the River Liffey on the way to Cork, The Rebel County. Then onto Blarney Castle and give the stone a cheeky little kiss to get the legendary gift of the gab. Before finally settling for the night in Ennis, famous for its wonderful music and dancing. Fresh after several pints of Guinness, the first stop of the day is at the awesome Cliffs of Moher, where on a clear day, you can see Galway Bay. Finally, continue your trek to Galway, Irelands cultural capital and festival city to be entertained by the many buskers and live music.
7 Day Skye and Western Isle, Island Hopper –
There is so much of Scotland that just hasnt been seen. Why not take the time to see it and all of the islands while youre at it. Begin your trip in Edinburgh and spend day one making your way to Inverness, making sure to stop by Dunkeld, the heart of Macbeth country and its mighty cathedral. Then after a dram of whiskey, youre off on your travels again to find the mystical beast that is the Loch Ness Monster dont spend too long looking though, there is much backpacking to do yet. Next stop is the north west highlands of Lewis to journey through the wilderness and some of the most remote and most isolated mountain terrain in Europe. After you have had your fill, jump on the ferry over to Harris, in the Western Isles, where you must visit the stunning Callanish Standing Stones, Neolithic in age and dating back more than 4,000 years. Their meaning remain a mystery, perhaps an ancient calendar but these are considered to be some of the most impressive and inspiring of any of the ancient stones in Britain. Lastly, if you can drag yourself away from the glorious countryside, mountains and perfect blue waters of Harris, you must continue on your travels over the sea to Skyeeee explore the magical isle with its awesome scenery and Cuillin Mountains while hearing about its many legends and faerie stories. Once, back on the mainland (short ferry trip), why not climb Britains highest mountain, Ben Nevis before going home to enjoy a well earned rest via a computer to upload all of your adventure onto your Kloodle profile.
For those not on placements or internships, enjoy a wonderful break and be sure to be safe on your travels but make the most of your opportunity to travel.
