A fantastic and thought provoking article by an Itchen College student on Kloodle discussing the comparison between mental health and physical injuries.

Mental health doesn’t have the same connotations as having a cold or getting seriously ill; for an example, if someone has diagnosed depression and they can’t go out as they’re having a bad episode, someone would say something along the lines of “ Going outside will make you feel better, fresh air always helps.”

If someone had a broken leg you wouldn’t tell them to just walk out on it as it’s only a broken leg and walking will help it mend, do you? Just because someone doesn’t have valuable side effects from an illness, doesn’t mean they’re completely okay mentally; never judge anyone for staying inside or avoiding an activity, they’re probably doing it for their own sake.
